Benefits of Scaffold Ladders

Scaffold ladders are incredibly versatile devices which provide a great solution when you need to safely complete small DIY or maintenance jobs at height. They are also widely used by professional tradesman in many lines of work including building, painting and decorating, plastering and window fitting. Scaffolding ladders are essentially regular ladders which have been designed in a way that allows them to be fixed in a number of different positions with the use of locking hinges. This allows them to offer the versatility of a raised platform strong enough to support a worker that is usually found only in scaffold towers or full scaffolding installations. They can of course also be used just like any other ladder to complete many different jobs.
Usage
A scaffold ladder system can usually be secured in three main configurations. The first option is to use the ladder as a standard single extension ladder. This means that the device is suitable for a wide range of jobs around the home such as standard maintenance or repair work, painting and window cleaning. The folding scaffold ladder can basically perform any function that any other extension ladder could.
The advantage here is that home owners may only need to purchase a single ladder which can be used in any situation. It will be used often to complete everyday tasks, not just those which require a raised platform. The way in which these ladder scaffolds are designed also means that they can be used as step ladders in the shape of an A-frame. This application is very useful in situations where the ladder needs to support its own weight along with the weight of the operator due to the lack of any surface upon which the ladder can lean. The folding mechanism means that the ladder can quickly and easily be set up in this way.
Obviously the main selling point of scaffold ladder access systems is their ability to create a raised platform which the operator can work from. Again it is simple to set the ladder in this configuration using the locking hinge system. The two aluminium ladders (which are supplied with stabilisers) will stand upright to be connected by attaching a platform or deck between them. This deck is what supports the worker. When erected, the structure takes the form of the letter H. This configuration creates a larger area to work from than a standard ladder will. The worker is free to move about on the deck and also store materials on it. This is a much safer option that working from a standard ladder or even a step ladder and will offer great versatility. At the same time it offers a safe solution to working at height without the need for a complex structure comprised of ladders and scaffolding.
Pricing
These systems can be purchased cheaply from many online retailers. You can buy the complete system which consists of the two aluminium ladder sections with stabilisers and also the decking area. There is no need for any further scaffold ladder beams or scaffold ladder gates or any other additional parts as the system is designed for small jobs at low heights. Prices begin around £60 or $100 which is very reasonable when considering the fact that one of these ladders may be the only ladder you need to purchase.
