Scaffold Tower Training Courses

There will always be risks associated with working at height. We can never eliminate them immediately but it is possible to keep the number of accidents to a minimum by ensuring that scaffold tower training is provided to those who need it. In the UK the Work at Height Regulations 2005 are in place to make sure that anyone who assembles, dismantles or alters a scaffold tower is competent, or is being supervised by a competent person if they are currently undertaking a course. Scaffold tower training courses are designed to develop these competencies. These courses will cover all aspects of tower scaffold training and are comprised of both theory and practical components. The major topics include scaffold tower assembly, stability, safe use, positioning, maintenance, regulations, inspection and dismantling techniques. Explanations of responsibilities held by both employees and employers are also included. In the UK tower scaffolding training is very similar across all registered training centres. The quality is also monitored by the Health and Safety Executive and periodic training audits are carried out. This should mean that your training will remain relevant if you move between employers and are using different equipment as you will have knowledge of mobile, steel and aluminium scaffold tower usage.
Training in scaffold tower erection along with the other competencies will be required if you are employed by a company and are using towers as part of your employment. You will be expected to possess knowledge of all aspects of tower usage and be able to demonstrate to others tower scaffold erection and dismantling techniques with the use of tower scaffold instructions. The training will be compulsory to ensure that your employer complies with work safety regulations and insurance requirements.
It is also a good idea to undertake a training course which covers erecting tower scaffolding as well as general safety if you are using a tower privately, independent of any employer. If you are unfamiliar with these towers in general, or just with certain manufacturers assembly techniques such as Boss scaffold tower instructions it can be difficult to visualise exactly how the tower is supposed to fit together. Training courses can help to reduce the chances of you making any mistakes when following scaffolding tower instructions and mean that you are able to work much more safely. This will also mean that you are able to use scaffold towers to their full potential.
